Locals Only - An Exhibition

Last night was the opening of the Locals Only exhibition at the Upstairs gallery, presented by WorkingClass and Volcom. Artists from each city were chosen to create a piece that represented their city. Each city had its own 2 colours.
Every piece was really awesome, there's such a high level of talent amongst the illustrators in SA. Check it out...

Blog ALL the things!!!

One of my favourite blogs for lolz is Hyperbole and a Half. Not only is Allie Brosh's writing freaking hilarious, but the illustrations are fantastic! They look like they're done in Paint - super simple, yet they manage to convey so much emotion and hilarity. I just love it!

Another thing I love is memes. I really love'em. So sometime a while ago, one of my fave illustrations from one of my fave lolzy blogs got turned into a meme - triple whammy lolz attack! It's been around for quite a while, but I came across it again last night and had to share the awesomeness of it.

So here's the original illustration (make sure you read the full comic for it here)…

And here are some of the memes… (or should I say "share ALL the memes!!")

It's a LOLcano of LOLZ!
Anyway. I like memes a lot.
Read her comics here, seriously. Sometimes I can't read them at work coz tears of lolz drip down my face and seep into my keyboard and I become useless and silly.

Flying Cat of Wonder!

I've been having a very low-energy, too-tired, so-much-to-do-so-little-time-and-energy kinda week, so while I bring myself towards myself you may find some amusement by casting your gaze upon this wondrous flying cat that came outta my pen.

Lines of Thought...

Last night was the opening of an exhibition at the Collective gallery titled "Lines of Thought". The brief: You're given a blue ballpoint pen and a notebook - do whatever you want as long as it's in blue ballpoint only. It was a very cool idea coz it was open to anyone, so it was an unintimidating platform for people who aren't "artists" as such to participate.

I really liked how it was displayed - the notebooks were all hung from the ceiling so it was almost like an interactive installation at the same time. It was cool that it got people moving around the room and talking, in a way that doesn't happen when stuff is displayed on walls.

The exhibition is on for 2 weeks, and you can buy the notebooks for R150. Go check it out :)

Play Time!

And now for some good ol' cat pics to restore normality after that last post.
One night I was all set to get some work done, when I saw this curious sight...

Obviously that couldn't be ignored, so I grabbed Ninja's toy (see piece of wool) and dived into play mode. Oh the lolz and fun times we had :)

An hour later, she was completely bushed and passed out on the floor, and I was ready for bed. Needless to say, not a stitch of work was done that night. Good times :)
I love this pic below! Look at that mean expression on her little face!
