mtz mtz mtz doef doef mtz

I listen to this song so often that I thought it deserves a mention on here. I mostly listen to it in my car on the way to work (and sometimes on the way home as well), great to get ya going in the morning, haha!
The video is pretty cool, especially towards the end. Check it out and let me know if you laaik it :)
Rave-driving FTW!

For Your Benefit

I really dig the vibe in these photos by event photographer, Ed Gumuchian. I love photos with light leaks and streaks and other happy accident effects! Of course, it also helps having beautiful people in your photos with amazing hair. I have a huge thing for photos of beautiful hair.

The Grande Dame of Burlesque!

This weekend I was lucky enough to squeeze my way in to a Madame Zingara show, which is sold out in Durban at the moment and has been for a while, so I was pretty freakin stoked. It was my first time and I didn't know too much about it, so didn't really know what to expect...
I think the most succinct and appropriate description would be WOW!
It is truly something amazing and spectacular to watch, all while eating a yummy four course meal. I was truly in awe. Can't wait to go again next time!
And naturally with all the bits of visual feastiness around I had to get a bit snap-happy...

Somebody that I used to know...

Gosh, this song makes me feel so happy and relaxed, and simultaneously so sad as well.
Love the melody and the lyrics.

Books of Adam

"Adam Ellis writes stupid stories about his life and draws stupid drawings to go along with his stupid stories. He lives in Portland and never eats tomatoes, ever."
And I might be in love with him. Ok, not really really. Maybe a little bit. This is why...

I stumbled across these illustrations the other day and I was instantly mad about them.
Firstly, he was ripping off Facebook people (yes, I am one, too, although I don't participate much. But I hate it for reasons that are blurry and vague, but very strong).
Secondly, there were posts and drawings about (SOOO CUTE! zomg, yes, I totally relate! Love it when they do that! Yes, mine do that, too! Aawww.... etc.).
Thirdly, his illustrations are rather rad. You can even get your own illustrated portrait!
• Fourthly, he's very funny.

"When I'm bored, I browse through
my friends' Facebook images, choose my favorites,
and draw them."

The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore

Check out this absolutely amazing interactive book app for iPad. It was created by author/illustrator William Joyce, who also worked on Toy Story, Robots, A Bug's Life and Meet the Robinsons, to name a few. The amount of interaction is really superb and combines the awesomeness of movies and animation to create a whole new experience.

I found it really interesting that the whole story of Morris Lessmore was inspired by Hurricane Katrina, Buster Keaton, The Wizard of Oz, and a love for books. It's a story of "people who devote their lives to books and books who return the favour".

First seen on The Fox is Black.

weelittlestitches - contemporary cross-stitch

"Sometimes a girl meets a boy and they become friends. Sometimes a girl kisses a boy and they both realize there's more between them than they thought. Sometimes they fall in love and get married. Sometimes a girl teaches a boy to stitch and suddenly there's one more thing they can share together and build on and plan for. And sometimes they both believe that every wee little stitch is an important part of a much larger story... and every story deserves to be shared."

Ghostbusters
Ninja Turtles
Star Wars (good)
Star Wars (evil)

~ How cool! ~

Everything is illuminated...

This book light is such a fantastic idea! I would pay someone to make this for me *hint hint* (Drop me a mail to apply for this amazing opportunity!)
I'd try to make it myself, but it looks a tad beyond my level of making-stuffness and laziness. Check out the tutorial here.

Beauty in motion

I am by no means a fan of BMW in any way, shape or form... Almost the opposite, in fact. But I can definitely appreciate a well-crafted design when I see one...

This year marks the 75th anniversary of the iconic BMW 328, which was released in 1936 and still holds the highest average speed on the famed Mille Miglia circuit. BMW have paid tribute to it by creating an impressive concept car, an updated version of the 328: the 328 Hommage.

I really dig the styling of it, especially those dead-eye headlights.
